Too damned hot ! .

Getting a bit bored with all this hot weather , I don't find it conducive to painting so I've been doing some re-basing . One of the advantages of my clear out of my wargaming room is  now I can access figures a lot easier and in the past I have been sorting out my Spencer Smith figures and basing them for 'Black Powder' - so I've got a few more done - It's an ongoing process .

Whilst I was on with my 30mm SYW I decided to set up and play a game using 'Black Powder' rules .

  1. I like the heat- though not when it gets above 38Deg C. Your Games Table looks perfect with your 30mm SYW - well done Tony. It is freezing here in Winter- all rugged up! Could send some to you there in England. Cheers. KEV.

  2. Yup, anything over 16degress I find uncomfortable, so at the moment I'm not enjoying the weather at all. Too hot in the attic to do any hobby stuff.

  3. Oh I like those buildings. Very old school. Are they bought or scratch built?

  4. Your figures and table look great Tony! I hope that you get a cool-down soon! I also have a great dislike for hot weather, that's why I moved to the Adirondack Mountains!

    1. We English are never happy with the weather - next minute we will be complaining about all the rain etc .

  5. Not painting at the moment either, bashing together some warehouses - glue sets hard quick in this weather

Great table setup, the HO buildings work well

  6. That's a beautiful table set up - so old-school, so elegant. Are those SSMs from the WAS range? Always like to see how others use them.

  7. Isn't Black Powder basing indifferent? Oh well, one reason to rebase is as good as the next.

When I first came to Nova Scotia I used to rejoice at the slightly warmer winters and cooler summers than what I grew up with in Montreal, but lately, the weather seems to have caught up with me. TG for AC!

    1. They were originally based individually on pennies so I'm multi basing them , BP is very relaxed about basing sizes .

  8. Seeing Spencer-Smith miniatures is pure nostalgia. My local library in the 1970s had several books showing pictures of them in great looking games. Bought a few figures in about 1978. Even had a brief chat with R.S.S, he seemed like a nice gentleman, I seem to remember he said he was in a wheelchair. This hot weather if hitting me too, but I have constructed a large Russian/American log building, which cleared some spare bits and pieces.
