It's a very unusual photo , I've never seen figures like those before.

Nice postcard; no mystery about the figures - they are Hinchliffe 25mm, which got bigger and bigger over the years. In fact the children may be Hinch 25s too.

I would have guessed German 70mm composite figures (Elastolin and others) but the kneeling ones might be 100mm.
Yes they are significantly bigger than 54mm.
Good find! The one on the right looks like a little hussar. On the left, a heavy cav uniform (with an infantry helmet)? Not a very festive thought, but I can't help wondering if they made it to 1919.
Yes I was wondering if they ended up in real uniforms as well.
