Cracking wee poem that I have never seen and it does indeed sum the whole joy of playing with soldiers very nicely.
It is rather good isn't it - I have a weakness for this sort of nostalgia .
Nice one ... I was anticipating the last two lines to be about being put away on the shelf or cupboard and then being forgotten and getting dusty as children "grow up".
