Got the first two of the 3D printed figures painted , they are very fine detailed and I have enjoyed painting them - if you click on the photo it will magnify all the mistakes I've made painting heraldry free hand - In fact I'm going to rectify some of the lining before doing the bases . I wonder how robust these figures will be in the rough and tumble of the gaming table ? . The others to follow .
Looking good, they're nice figures.
ReplyDeleteYes rather pleased with them
DeleteVery nice!
ReplyDeleteI like the figures , a bit doubtful about the material they are made of .
DeleteVery nice work on them, I haven't dipped my toes into the 3D world and like you worry about how robust they will be, be interesting to find out.
ReplyDeleteYes they are the future ? - we will see .
DeleteThey look good and I think they will be as robust as any hard plastic figures, so should be fine unless you accidentally lean in them!
ReplyDeleteHope so - have heard horror stories of strong direct sunlight causing them to bend ?
DeleteExcellent painting Tony, they look great! A very interesting question, the plastic does seem quite hard and could be brittle on fiddly parts such as weapons and arms! Time will tell!
ReplyDeleteYes I will watch their wargaming careers with interest .
DeleteWell rendered! I've only dabbled (out of necessity here and there) with resin/plastics. In some cases, I've found myself weighting the bases in order to give them the heft I'm used to. But that might just be old habits.
ReplyDeleteThink they might be the future ?
DeleteOddly enough I've just agreed to review some 40mm 3d printed figures. The same range is also available in 25mm. Stay tuned for the review but I'm impressed pre painting.
