Smelling faintly of 'Detol' the Army of Almannia is ready for basing and painting . Over the last week I have been stripping the figures of their rather gungy paint and now am ready to undercoat them . Once I'd got the paint off I'm even more impressed with the quality of the castings and am looking forward to painting them.
Meanwhile at the Artillery Depot .......
They do look like rather nice models - look forward ro seeing them fully accoutered!
ReplyDeleteThey have cleaned up well.
DeleteYes -the 40mm castings look very good-nice and crisp detail- I'm sure you'll do a good job of painting them Tony.
ReplyDelete40mm is probably my favorite scale to paint I think.
DeleteThat's a veritable army you've got there. What uniform are you going to paint them in? I know they were slated for Germania but British Home Service would look pretty good with the infantry in scarlet and artillery in blue.
ReplyDeleteYes they would pass as British wouldn't they.
DeleteYou did an excellent job of stripping the old paint Tony, they look good as new! Now comes the fun part, I can't wait to see the finished product!
ReplyDeletePleased how they cleaned up, sometime old paint can be stubborn.
DeleteThey've cleaned up well..
ReplyDeleteYes , good old Detol !
DeleteNicely cleaned. If you ever need recruits, I have all but a few of the Prussian moulds. Free metal and labour.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the kind offer , will bear it in mind.
