Finally finished.


We are off on our holidays soon and I thought it a good idea to clear up my painting backlog before we go. I was given these 3D printed resin figures several weeks ago and although I had made a start on them, I thought it a good idea to finish painting them and get the bases done. They are lovely figures, very crisp castings but I wonder how they will weather the rough and tumble of wargaming, but I'm pleased with them, are they the future of wargaming figures?

    Yes, nice figures, and perhaps they, and hard plastic, ARE the future if wargaming....maybe in a few years, we will all have 3D printers at home and just buy the STL codes and orient our own.....a modern twist on the Prinz August idea?

      Hmm I'm interested in the future of 3D printing but am told it's not as straight forward as it seems .

    Beautifully done Tony, you have excellent brush skills for sure! Only time will tell with the 3D toy soldiers. If they are too brittle, they won't work in the long run!

      Thank you, they don't seem brittle, but I've heard horror stories about expositor to strong warm sunlight.

    They look lovely, cracking work on them. They look really nice figures but I'm still not convinced they are the future, time will tell.

    Lovely work on the knights.

    Some of the 3d printed figure ranges are definitely worth a punt; although aim to buy from someone using a good resolution printer.

    I bought some 40mm 3d printed medieval figures; very nice and will look great when I get round to painting them. They can be a bit brittle especially on fine thin detail - a bit of superglue can remedy a break.

    They give an admirable impression. My guess is that they'll hold up just fine--the real question is whether or not the absence of heft will prove a distraction to gamers (such as we) who grew up with metals.

      Must admit I do like metal, but most manufactures seem to be going down the plastic route.
