Because the weather has been unusually fine ( for a Bank Holiday ) I've not got much done on the wargaming front being otherwise engaged in outdoor activities . However I thought it time to get the next game set up of the series of linked games I'm playing of Garibaldi's invasion of Sicily .
In the first game an assault on the '1,000 ' as they landed at Marsala by a Neapolitan force was easily driven off - due to the incompetence of their command , so the next game finds Garibaldi's force marching inland on the road to Palermo . They have been joined by numbers of the local population keen to throw off the yoke of Neapolitan despotism .
However the Neapolitan Governor has different ideas and has dispatched a reinforced army to halt the rebels . I will be using the 'Black Powder' set of wargaming rules , the figures are of course 28mm Irregular Miniatures.
I diced to see where the two Neapolitan Brigades came onto the table . One Brigade has been delayed and the other has comes onto the right flank - the least favourable position to block the road - not a good start for them . Too be continued........
Looking very good. I like the ruins. Gallia used to do a piece like that many years ago.
ReplyDeleteThese are some sort of expanded plastic made by some German firm - had them for years , Tony
DeleteGreat stuff - I am terribly envious of this project. Looks great and nice to see a project followed through and resulting in games being played.
ReplyDeleteVery well done.
Thank you for your kind words - have to keep reminding myself that's why we paint toy soldiers - to play with them ! , Tony
DeleteWhat army lists for Black Powder did you use for the Risorgimento period?
