Whilst doing a Spring clean (of which more later) I found these 40mm semi flat cavalry I once got from eBay .
So they all got a Dettol bath to remove their paint .
Cleaning off the gunge using an old toothbrush and disposable gloves .
First batch cleaned and based ready for an undercoat.
Next batch, I was short one figure so I cast one up , and mysteriously he is slightly bigger , Think it might be a homemade mould hence the size difference ? , hopefully not to noticable when they are painted and on the tabletop. I have no idea which armies they will be joining yet .

Stout looking fellows that is for sure.
ReplyDeleteThey have cleaned up well
DeleteI would have left the paint on and just added any details to the existing paintjobs. However, I'll be fascinated to see your own paint schemes and to hear about the imaginations background. James
ReplyDeleteThe paint job was a bit 'gummy'
DeleteThey have scrubbed up rather well, looking forward to seeing what uniforms you give them.
ReplyDeleteYes going to undercoat them soon.
DeleteThese will look absolutely splendid on the tabletop.
ReplyDeleteYes they are nice figures , not sure which army they will be recruited into yet.
DeleteThey look naturals to join the Army of the Grand Duchy of Strackenz.
ReplyDeleteLooking through various books for uniforms .
DeleteThey certainly cleaned up nicely Tony! I can't wait to see how you paint them, and which force they will join!
ReplyDeleteYes a Dettol dip works wonders
ReplyDeleteNothing like running across a prize when doing a clear out.
ReplyDeleteHidden treasure!
DeleteNot great photos (stills from the film Royal Flash) but this was why I thought they would do nicely for Strackenz:
