Peter Cushing and Toy Soldiers

Came across these photos of Peter Cushing and his toy soldiers on a site on Facebook , a couple I've seen before but not the others .

I wonder if he really used 'Little Wars' or was it purely for effect ?

The photos originally came from the 'Peter Cushing Appreciation Society'

I didn't know he was into model aeroplanes though , hanging models from the ceiling - we've all done it !

Pondering the rules !

Open fire !!!

  1. It looks to me like he really did use HG Wells' rules especially the last photo. Then again I have always been easily deceived.

    1. I just noticed the book you are reading about the Neolithic. I knew Julian Thomas when I was at University; a VERY clever man indeed.

  4. Nice piece of wargaming history. The aircraft photo is new to me maybe an indication he was a bit of a modeller as well. Cheers Greg

  5. I previously knew of Peter Cushing's fascination with Toy Soldiers - you've found some different photos previously not seen - Thanks. I also believe that Charlton Heston was also a Toy Soldier collector. Cheers. KEV.

  11. Those Knights look like Courtenays. Phew, they'd be worth a pretty penny today.
